A bill to lift the arms embargo on Cyprus has been introduced in Congress

A bill that would essentially lead to the lifting of the US arms embargo Cyprus Filed in USA Congress.

“This change will advance the historic development of US-Cyprus relations, strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance US security interests in the Eastern Mediterranean. This legislation was introduced in honor of the 50th anniversary of the illegal invasion and occupation of Northern Cyprus by Turkey,” Lena Argiri wrote on Platform X.

Lawmakers say the proposed arrangement would advance the historic development of US-Cyprus relations, strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance US security interests in the Eastern Mediterranean.

News of the submission of the relevant bill to Congress was also broadcast by journalist Michalis Ignatiou, speaking late on Holy Wednesday evening on Cyprus's Omega TV station.
