For those YU students who are looking for a fun time, but find themselves in that often neglected and bored 18 - 20 demographic, where comedy clubs and various music venues aren't an option, then The Fat Cat Music Club/Lounge is for you.

The Fat Cat is known for their jazz music, but if jazz isn't your speed, have no fear - The Fat Cat features many other genres of music, from Latin sambas to gospel! 'The Cat' also offers many activities other than the fantastic live music. Billiards, ping pong, shuffleboard, foosball, chess & checkers, backgammon, and Scrabble are just a few of the many activities that are always available for your entertainment.

So let's say you aren't a 'music nut' that shouldn't affect your decision. The club's ambiance is a draw in itses scattered across the venue provide a comfortable space for you and your party, and the lounge area in back is just one more reason The Fat Cat is a great place to spend a night off with friends.

While The Fat Cat does not have Kosher certification, it is equipped with a cafeteria that offers teas, juices, soda and small individually wrapped snacks. And if you happen to be over twenty-one, it may interest you to know that The Fat Cat also serves a huge selection of malted and mixed drinks, though they are a bit pricey.

One of the best parts about 'The Cat' is that if you get bored, you can always pick up and leave without feeling guilty about the $3 cover charge. In fact, you can even leave and come back, as long as the stamp on your hand is still there. And being in the heart of Greenwich Village may be something you are very interested in doing as well.

If you do decide to check out The Fat Cat Jazz Lounge take a bit of advice from a couple of guys who have experienced it - eat something beforehand! Unless you want to feast on chocolate bars from the convenience store next door, or fill up on drinks, you'd better grab some dinner before you get there.

Above all, The Fat Cat is a happening place. If you are in the mood for music, or just a fun relaxed night with your friends around a board game, The Fat Cat is a place you should check out.
