It was a team effort during club hour on Thursday, October 11, when the H2H Peer Mentoring program held its opening event: "Make Your Own Sushi." Over 50 mentors and 'mentees' came to the cafeteria where students participated in the event.
The event was sponsored by the H2H program, but was the culmination of efforts from Housing, Student Affairs and Food services.
Two professional sushi chefs from Eden Wok were brought in to show off their skills and give instructions on how to make sushi. After their brief lesson, the students were allowed to try their hand at making their own.
According to Student Affairs Fellow Mr. Rafi Edelman, "the event was met with a large amount of positive feedback from students and administrators alike."
The H2H program was designed to pair up new students with older, more experienced peers who can help guide the newer students through the Yeshiva University experience in ways that professors and advisors cannot.
