Being a Division III member has often made it a difficult task for Yeshiva's athletic program to generate excitement. As you make your way back to school this week, you will find Yeshiva's Athletic Department looking a little different than the way we left it back in May; perhaps on the cusp of a never before seen level of awareness and stature on campus, thrusting the Macs into the conscience of Yeshiva.

Most notable, is the addition of Associate Director of Athletics & Sports Information Director Michael Spinner.

Mr. Spinner comes to Yeshiva after spending the last three years as Assistant Director of Athletics and Sports Information Director at Mt. Saint Vincent -- a fellow Skyline Conference school. He also has served as Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Mt. Saint Vincent for the past five years.

Prior to his stint at Mount Saint Vincent, Mr. Spinner spent his entire professional career working in intercollegiate athletics and journalism.

"I'm excited that Mike Spinner has decided to join the athletics staff at Yeshiva," said Yeshiva Athletic Director Joe Bednarsh. "Having worked with Mike as a Sports Information Director colleague prior to taking the Athletics Director position at Yeshiva, I saw firsthand the excellent work he performed at Mount Saint Vincent. Mike's background in collegiate athletics, journalism, and his experience working within the Skyline Conference will make him an asset to our department."

At Mount Saint Vincent, Mr. Spinner was responsible for the publicity and promotion of all 16 intercollegiate athletics programs, and was instrumental in the development of a new website for intercollegiate athletics, as well as the creation of a new brand identity and logo for the department. He also helped oversee several other projects and initiatives for Mount Saint Vincent Athletics.

Spinner founded the Women's Lacrosse program at Mount Saint Vincent and quickly developed one of the powerhouse programs in the region as Mount Saint Vincent enjoyed a 30-19 regular season record from 2004-2006. The team advanced to the Skyline Conference and ECAC Upstate/Metro Semifinals during the last two seasons.
