What are your thoughts on YU dropping out of the top 50 ranked schools in the US News and World Report's 2008 "Best Colleges" list?
"None of us are surprised that YU's academic ranking is falling. Anyone can see that the mass exodus of both students and teachers have taken too much of the quality members away to maintain the level of academic performance."
--Ari Michael
"I'm shocked and upset considering that YU has put much effort into improving, trying to make itself a better place for the students and the faculty. I can only hope that these steps will prove worthwhile in the near future, even though I will not longer be here."
--Matan Gutwaks
"I for one am not at all surprised that reality caught up with YU. As much as I love YU until they greatly expand their course listing and improve their faculty they will not be and should not be included in any serious list of top universities."
--Ezra Sutton
"YU's drop from the top 50 schools in the nation, according to The US News and World Report, is a wake up call to the University. For about a decade one of YU's main recruitmant points has been that it as good as other New York colleges on that list. Maybe its time for YU to do some soul searching and find out where it needs to improve. In addition YU should find the areas in which it truly excells and stress them to prospective students rather then continue with a blanket rallying cry of "we are a top 50 University."
