After two years as President Richard M. Joel's chief of staff, Ed Fox has left Yeshiva to return to the world of education administration. The President has said that a search for his replacement has begun.

The responsibilities of the chief of staff include monitoring the progress of presidential assignments given to other administrators and serving as the immediate spokesman for the president to other members of the administration and faculty. The chief of staff also keeps the president focused on all of the presidential obligations and serves an advisory role on the construction of school policy.

Ezra Schwartz, the president's aide, will continue to assist the President by keeping him up to date on current events in the Jewish community that concern him while he lacks a Chief of Staff.

President Joel commented on his former Chief of Staff. "This is not a shake up. [Ed] agreed to come for two years and he came for two years," said the President, "He was very important and very helpful in helping to establish a culture of menschlichkite and professionalism... I think he felt that what he had come to help me achieve, he had achieved. He is still very much heart and soul of what we are and a dear friend."
