The Center for the Jewish Future (CJF) of Yeshiva University will hold a three-day kickoff called "You Are The Ticket To Our Future" September 12 to 14, featuring fairs at Yeshiva University's (YU) Wilf Campus in Washington Heights and Israel Henry Beren Campus in Midtown Manhattan.

The program will teach students how they can shape the future of the Jewish community by participating in CJF programming. In addition, students will take part in team-building workshops, and hear shiurim (lectures) delivered by YU's prominent Torah scholars.

"We are excited to introduce the Center for the Jewish Future's activities to Yeshiva University students," said Rabbi Kenneth Brander, CJF dean. "Students can get involved in a multitude of ways, assisting communities locally, nationally, and abroad."

CJF tents will be open daily from 11 am to 5 pm on the Wilf Campus between Rubin and Morgenstern residence halls and on the Beren Campus in the Levy Lobby and in the Levy Commons. Activities will feature daily giveaways, refreshments, and an opportunity to meet the CJF staff and volunteer for CJF programs. Rabbi Brander will give a shiur on Wednesday at 2:40 pm in the Levy Lobby on the Beren Campus as part of a Lunch and Learn, and at 9:40 pm in the main Beit Midrash on the Wilf Campus.

CJF offers a diverse array of programming, including QUEST, a leadership training program that focuses on social and organizational issues; Torah Tours, which sends students to share their enthusiasm for Jewish observance with communities throughout North America; Eimatai, which trains high school students to be future Jewish leaders; and Torah Learning Network, which helps high school students strengthen their Jewish learning skills. The Center will also take a fresh look at rabbinic and Jewish communal job placement; investigate communal solutions to the rising costs of Jewish education; and will pursue social and community programs in Israel.

CJF works together with YU's colleges, schools and affiliates to build programs and initiatives -- inside and outside the institution -- that will train and develop Jewish lay and professional leadership, create interdisciplinary synergies, and deliver services that educate and inspire YU's students and the broader Jewish community. Its think-tanks and programs will work on public policy issues, leadership and partnership strategies, community strengthening in Israel and throughout the Diaspora, and lifelong Jewish education.
