As I got off the bus onto a small paved road off the main highway, the hot and arid desert air stung my face. Looking around, I saw that we were in the middle of nowhere, with literally nothing but sand around us as far as the eye could see. Why am I here? Then I saw it, right behind me: a big sign on a pole dug deep into the sand reading “Halutzit.” Suddenly, it all made sense.

One day during the summer, my Gmail chirped a new message from Michael Cinnamon – not an uncommon occurrence and certainly not unexpected. His question, though, after the requisite “are you busy now? // can I ask you something?” was “do you want to be the Features Editor this year?” Feeling that my immediate response (“yes”) was not good enough, I followed it up with “and that’s an enthusiastic yes.”
Longtime SySyms Professor Pava Explores Ethics
At the Sy Syms School of Business for over two decades, Dr. Moses Pava still enjoys it just as much as ever. Since starting as Professor of Accounting while pursuing his Ph.D. in Accounting from New York University, Dr. Pava has encountered what he estimates is over 800 students, teaching Intermediate Accounting in SSSB both uptown and downtown.
In a recent Features staff meeting at our private, executive meeting space (the Heights Lounge), we discussed exciting possibilities for new Features articles. Finally we stumbled on a topic, near and dear to all YU students’ hearts, which we knew almost nothing about: the local shuttle service.
